MMHA’s most cherished event is returning even bigger and brighter than ever. A committee full of talented individuals with love for our ACE event came together over 2011 to revamp and completely overhaul the awards program.
The ACE Awards is the industry’s premier event giving your associates recognition within their industry and from their peers.
The committee took this endeavor very seriously and looked objectively at how we could create a more inclusive event with greater options for nomination categories. For added convenience, the nomination process has been streamlined and will be offered online.
The judging criteria has raised and evolved to match the growing prominence of the ACE Awards. The committee was unanimous in deciding that the winners will be selected by a panel of judges from outside of our region with stellar industry credentials.

Property Management companies may nominate up to 15 individuals, with no more than 3 people per category. Nominations cost $50.00 each and will be invoiced as soon as the nominations are received. The nomination process will close on February 17, 2012.

The Civic Award is given to those who go above and beyond in their community and through their charity efforts. Those that show care and compassion helping others will make perfect candidates for this award.

This award is given to a property that, as a whole, is exemplary. The property that receives this award will have set the standard for property operations, curb appeal, outstanding customer service and a cohesive team who truly care about the property's overall appearance and operations.

This award is new this year and was created to recognize the efforts, leadership and commitment of the Portfolio Manager; specifically those portfolio managers whose attributes, quality and performance have helped to make their portfolio of properties and team a success. Those nominated for this award should possess exceptional leadership, property performance, financial performance and organizational skills. It is the leadership and skill set of the Portfolio Manager that motivates and inspires their team's performance. This person must have at least two years experience in this role.

This award is designed to recognize property professionals with under 100 units and is designed to match the criteria for the Managers or Assistant Managers of smaller communities that the property is run by just their position. Their performance is equally as important as any larger sized community but may not require the same criteria and staffing levels. The reality is that their job can be more demanding because they are typically the only employee and are required to wear many hats to get the job done.

This is a new award this year and is a great opportunity to recognize those individuals who have excelled within their first year and demonstrated a strong potential for long term success in our industry. This person must have been in the industry for at least six months and have less than one year experience in property management.

This is an exciting new award this year. Managing student housing is unique challenge of its own. They are often faced with occupancy challenges as the student population is seasonal. Students often have different needs and for some this may be their first apartment rental experience. This is opportunity to recognize your manager that demonstrates excellence in this unique skill set.

The Assistant Manager of the Year award recognizes efforts to aid the manager in outstanding performance in the operations of the property. To be successful, you will have a strong commitment to leadership, resident retention, vendor management and overall property performance.

Maintenance Manager of the Year will be awarded to one who has shown outstanding efforts and organizational skills and who has maintained overall property performance and appearance. This professional demonstrates a strong ability to train and mentor others. The whole property is not successful without an exceptional maintenance team. A successful maintenance manager leads by example, possesses good leadership skills and always gives 110%.

This award recognizes your top performers in leasing. A good leasing person is performance driven and naturally sucessful because of enthusiasm for the position, follow up, sales skills and exemplary customer service. A property could not be successful without the commitment of a dynamic leasing person and their exceptional closing skills.

Being a Tax credit manager requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of the Section 42 program rules. There are also specific deadlines to meet which requires excellent time management skills. This is a great way to recognize someone in your organization that works countless hours ensuring their property is always in compliance.
