The Fair Housing Council of Oregon works in conjunction with the Metro Multifamily Housing Association to present this valuable course on the fair housing laws. The Fair Housing Council of Oregon (FHCO) is a statewide civil rights organization whose mission is to eliminate housing discrimination through enforcement and education. This course provides students with an acute understanding of what the fair housing laws are, how they work, and who they seek to protect.
Knowing these protections exist is only the first step in understanding the role they play in the residential property management industry. Landlords must also know how they apply to specific situations. Fair Housing law covers many types of housing transactions including evictions, advertising, and lending.
This course teaches attendees the skills necessary to identify possible Fair Housing issues and to make appropriate decisions based on the law. People new to the industry are strongly encouraged to attend this course along with those who have been in the industry for a while and need to refresh their understanding.
